SOURDOUGH CRACKERS
Not in the mood to make a whole loaf of sourdough? Enjoy this simple quick - delicious - way to use up your sourdough starter! My kids thought I put cheese in it but because of the “sour” starter - you get a great cheesy flavor with no dairy. Completely vegan!
Ingredients:
-
1 cup sourdough starter
-
3 tablespoons Beyond the Olive Mandarin Orange Olive Oil
-
1 teaspoon Montreal Steak Seasoning or a salt combination of your liking - we love Black Hawaiian Sea Salt for the look and flavor of crunchy bits
-
1/2 teaspoon flax or chia seeds (completely optional)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F.
On a cookie sheet pan (with a lip), pour the Mandarin Orange Olive Oil in the center of the pan.
Slowly pour the cup of sourdough starter over the olive oil and let it naturally spread out.
Sprinkle with your salt/seed/herb combination.
Place in oven and turn the temperature down to 200. If you have a convection oven, turn the convection air on.
Cook for 10 minutes and check on it. The cracker should pull off of the pan. If not, leave in until it feels completely dry (especially in the center).
Cool and remove using a spatula (It should pop right off).
Use with your favorite spread or our favorite tapenade or hummus!
